I NEED YOUR HELP raising DONATIONS! There are so many wonderful causes out there, but I have a GREAT one close to my heart that my husband and I participate in, the ALS Association's "Walk to D'Feet ALS" walk.

My husband's mother, Darlene, died in 2003 exactly one year after being diagnosed with ALS (see definition below). At first she stumbled, then she had a hard time swallowing. Once we found out what she had, it was not be long before she was in a wheelchair and having to communicate through writing. It is heartbreaking to know they are still as sharp as a tack mentally, but cannot talk or eventually write or move at all. We all think something like this never happens to us, but it does and can strike at any time.
